Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, chopped
  • 1/2 cup provolone cheese, diced
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, milk, diced onion, diced bell pepper, chopped mushrooms, diced provolone cheese, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased baking dish.
  4. In a small bowl, mix beef broth, ketchup, brown sugar, garlic powder, and onion powder. Pour this sauce over the meatloaf.
  5. Bake for 1 hour, or until cooked through. In the last 10 minutes of baking, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top and return to the oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
